Program: Premiere of the 5 parts of Prop Dances; revival of Regions
Premiere of all five parts of the "Prop Dances" - a series of works where Molissa has asked five visual artists to create a prop(s) that the dancers can either carry or wear. Artists are: Roy Fowler, Jene Highstein, Todd Richmond, Keith Sonnier and Merrill Wagner. Music composed by Cenk Ergun, Lainie Fefferman, Jason Hoopes and Joan Jeanrenaud. Danced by Molissa Fenley, Katie McGreevy, Cassie Mey. Also on the program, the company performs "Regions" (1995), with music by Maggi Payne, revived through an award from the NEA American Masterpieces initiative.
