Goings On About Town: Dance
"Dance Under the Influence”
The New Yorker
February 11 & 18, 2013

The stage at the Museum of Arts and Design is awfully tiny, but the talent showcased in this series is usually large and varied. This year starts promisingly, with the affable former Mark Morris dancer John Heginbotham, in a solo based on mailed instructions from Remy Charlip, and a première by Molissa Fenley that was designed for the space. For the fiercely elegant tap dancer Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards and for Zack Winokur’s female trio, inspired by Cocteau’s “La Dame de Monte-Carlo,” the music is live. The informal, intimate Q. & A. that closes each evening is another draw.
