Dance Listings for Sept 12-18
Schaefer, New York Times
September 11, 2014

Molissa Fenley and Company (Tuesday) Ms. Fenley was born out west and attended Mills College in Oakland, Calif., where she still teaches each spring. The expansiveness of that region inspired “Redwood Park,” which has its New York premiere on Tuesday in a one-night only performance. Accompanying that work is its conceptual opposite, “Dance an Impossible Space,” which considers motion in limited confines. Ms. Fenley also revisits “Esperanto,” a work from 1985 exploring the concept of a universal language. She performs with two company members and three dancers from the Oakland Ballet. At 7:30 p.m., Judson Memorial Church, 55 Washington Square South, Greenwich Village, 212-941-8911, molissafenley.com; $25 for performance only, $100 for performance with reception. (Schaefer)
